What is Hospice?


Hospice is a specialized program of team members, designed to treat the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient, caregiver, and family.  This care can take place in the home, hospital, nursing home and/or other facilities.

Who Qualifies for Hospice Care?

Any patient with a diagnosis of 6 months or less, diagnosed with life threatening illness, who is not seeking curative treatment.  Care is offered to patients regardless of age, sex, race or ability to pay.  Hospice is covered 100% by Medicare & Medicaid, and most private insurance companies have hospice benefits.

How Do I Get Hospice?


Referral to Hospice can be made by anyone.  (physician, family, friend, clergy, etc.)
When diagnosed with probable 6 months or less to live.
When patient is no longer seeking curative care, but comfort care only.

  • Failure to thrive
  • Liver Disease ( Hepatitis Disease)
